Inverted Nipples: Overview
Inverted nipples can detract from your breasts natural beauty and inhibit you from enjoying them to the fullest. So why not make them look as beautiful as they were meant to be with a visit to Dr. Michael W. Gray.
Inverted Nipples: Procedure
Inverted nipples occur when breast ducts don’t grow and stretch at the same rate as the breast. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix that Dr. Gray can perform in as little as 15 minutes under local anesthesia. A tiny incision is hidden at the border where the areola meets the skin. The connections inverting the nipple are released and the nipple is then everted. The location of this incision produces the most optimal results cosmetically. Absorbable sutures are then hidden under the skin, making suture removal unnecessary.
Inverted Nipples: Recovery
After the procedure, patients can return to work the same day. Most feel minimal discomfort during recovery and because the absorbable sutures are under the skin. Suture removal is not required.
